For energy companies, specifically startups and small & medium enterprises (SMEs), looking to develop their capabilities and grow their business in the smart and clean energy landscape.

Phase 1 - Application Phase The application phase will run from 24 October 2021 (GMT+8) and will end on 18 February* 2022 at 16:00 (GMT+8).
Companies can register on the platform, choose a challenge topic, complete the application form, and submit a PDF pitch deck (cap at 20 slides)* outlining the following areas:
  • Details of the Company
    • Management Team
    • Brief description of the company (50-100 words)
  • Details of the Company’s Solution:
    • Executive Summary
      • Provide a summary of the company’s solution, technology and deliverables – tangible and intangible outcomes of the project
    • Unique value proposition
      • e.g. differentiation factors from existing solutions/competitors, potential efficiency gains and cost savings, effectiveness in addressing the challenge themes
    • Technical feasibility of solution and novelty
      • e.g. prototype or demonstration stage; existing client (if any) and/or potential end users
    • Commercial feasibility of solution
      • e.g, commercialisation and scale-up strategy, revenue business model, estimated commercial price, operating/maintenance/life cycle cost/cashflow management
    • Company’s expertise and track record

Companies can also submit an introductory 2-minutes video by the Founder, CEO or Top management explaining the solution (optional)

Feel free to tackle multiple challenge themes by submitting multiple applications should you have more than one solution to submit!

The deadline of the submission will be on 18 February*, 2022 at 16:00 (GMT+8). Please note that all the deliverables must be submitted in English.

Phase 2 - Shortlisting Phase Shortlisting Phase will start on 1 February, 2022 and finish by 31 March, 2022.

All submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Novelty of the solution
  • Commercial and Technical feasibility of the proposal
  • Relevance of the solution to address the challenge themes
  • Company’s expertise and track record


Shortlisted companies will be invited to pitch to a Selection Panel in late-March and results will be announced via email in early-April, 2022.

Phase 3 - Deepening Phase The Deepening Phase will run in April, 2022.

The Deepening Phase will run for the month of April, 2022, where up to 10 shortlisted companies will receive training from Envision Digital on EnOS™️ and mentorship to refine proposal to develop synergistic outcomes with EnOS™️.

Phase 4 – Grant Application Phase The Grant Application Phase will run from 1 May, 2022 to 30 June, 2022.
The Grant Call Phase will run from 1 May, 2022 to 30 June, 2022.

From 1 May, 2022 to 30 June, 2022, the shortlisted companies will be invited to submit a R&D proposal to seek EMA’s grant support on a competitive basis. They would be mentored by Envision Digital to refine their proposal. Shortlisted companies can engage directly with their mentors via email or conference calls for discussions and proposal refinement.

The proposal must be submitted to EMA by 30 June, 2022 at 12:00 (noon) Singapore Time (GMT+8).

Phase 5 - Selection and Award Phase From 1 July, 2022 to 31 October, 2022, promising proposals will be shortlisted for evaluation and project award by a Project Evaluation Panel (PEP).

All proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Novelty of the proposal
  • Commercial and Technical feasibility of the proposal
  • Economic benefits to Singapore in terms of capability and manpower development
  • Project team’s expertise and track record


Results will be announced during end-October, 2022.
